Research

Current research focuses on the quantitative assessment of activity descriptors and structure-performance relationships in Ziegler-Natta catalyzed ethylene polymerization. A comprehensive structural study on the industry-relevant catalyst in conjunction with a systematic kinetic and mechanistic investigation of polymerization reactions will be met by applying the advanced in-situ and operando microscopy and spectroscopy under working conditions. With the in-depth insights, the researcher expects to rationally design a practically applicable catalyst with atomic precision, or bring forth significant improvements to an existing catalytic system for current polyolefins industry.
