Utrecht University and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST, Shanghai, China) have established a Joint Research Center (JRC) for Sustainable and Circular Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The JRC will foster cooperation by initiating joint research projects and train the next generation of scientists in the areas of waste and carbon dioxide valorization. A large delegation from ECUST, headed by ECUST president Prof. Fuzhen Xuan, visited Utrecht on June 18 and 19. The delegation was hosted by Prof. Bert Weckhuysen (ISCC), who is also a honorary professor at ECUST, and received by UU Rector Magnificus Prof. Henk Kummeling and Dean Prof. Isabel Arends. The research cooperation agreement was signed by the UU Faculty of Science Dean Prof. Isabel Arends and ECUST president Prof. Fuzhen Xuan.
