Petra de Jongh has been appointed chair of Inorganic Nanomaterials at the Department of Chemistry and the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science, effective February 1. De Jongh is an expert in catalysts and related nanostructured materials that are key for the transition towards sustainably produced fuels and chemical building blocks. Her appointment strengthens the Utrecht University research area ‘Energy and Resources’, which aims at fundamental breakthroughs in the field of sustainability.
