Christia has started working as a PhD candidate at the Inorganic Chemistry and Catalysis group on the first of April. In this MCEC-project, entitled ‘Chemical Imaging of Solid Catalysts with Nano-Infrared Spectroscopy’, she is supervised by dr. Florian Meirer and prof. dr. ir. Bert Weckhuysen.

Her project will be focused on using recently acquired photoinduced force microscopy (PiFM) to chemically image metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). In the first phase, focus will be directed towards the synthesis and characterization of newly developed MOFs. This will be done by trying different synthesis approaches and comparing results obtained by several spectroscopic and analytical techniques.

You can find her in the DDW on the 4th floor, open space. Outside office hours Christia enjoys playing the piano and traveling.
