Research

This research investigates the catalytic pyrolysis of polymers, such as polystyrene, for targeted depolymerization using advanced catalysts. The pyrolysis behavior of these polymers was analyzed through thermal kinetics and molecular dynamics simulations, revealing that specific catalysts can significantly enhance depolymerization efficiency. By reducing activation energy and increasing reaction rates, catalysts facilitate C-C bond cleavage more effectively. These findings not only support catalytic pyrolysis as a viable recycling method for plastics but also contribute to broader environmental sustainability by providing a pathway to reduce plastic waste and generate valuable chemical products.
